Welcome to the Presbytery de Cristo
website, your cyber gateway to the life-giving ministries of the
29 Presbyterian churches located in the lush desert of southern
Arizona and a gorgeous little patch of New Mexico. (Did you
ever see an Arizona Highways magazine? Believe me, those
photos are not re-touched!) Here you can read the presbytery’s
inspirational mission statement. Visit the churches through the
links to their websites and witness the vitality of Christ’s
work in this region. Keep current on Presbytery happenings by
making regular visits to the calendar page. Be in touch with the
work of the ministries or simply download a needed form. We are
anticipating significant changes to the website over the next
year, but for now, use it as your entrance into the Presbytery
de Cristo and into this very special region of God’s kingdom.
As I begin the
position of Presbytery Pastor/Stated Clerk (which we will not be
abbreviating to “PP”) I am indebted to Lynne Meyers, interim EP
and Steve Brownson, stated clerk. With other leaders in this
presbytery they guided the presbytery through an extensive
process of appreciative inquiry, open-space technology and major
restructuring and the presbytery is now positioned and poised to
move purposefully toward a more connectional, collegial and
missional vision of its life and work together.
In the next year
we will be “living into” this new reality. It is my prayer that
as we become ever more practiced at this new way of being a
presbytery, we will also experience growing churches that will
be making an ever greater difference in our communities, region
and the world. Through Christ, with Christ, in the unity of
the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor are God’s forever and
ever. Amen.
